Minor repairs such as cable terminations and replacement fuses and plug tops are carried out free of charge.
Our PAT Testing prices start from 79p per item inspected and tested. No extra charge for testing outside normal business hours or weekends. Price includes a full asset register detailing item location, test results and insurance approved PAT test certificate.

PAT Testing (Electrical Equipment testing) is an important part of the day-to day safety of your workplace.
The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 (EWR) places the responsibility with the ‘Duty Holder’ to ensure that all electrical equipment is maintained in a safe condition to prevent danger from arising.
“4.(2) As may be necessary to prevent danger, all systems shall be maintained so as to prevent, so far as is reasonably practicable, such danger.”

NHS CLIENT PROPERTIES ELECTRICAL SAFETY TESTING
Maritime Electrical Services recognises its responsibility under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Electricity at Work Act 1989 and its duty of care to protect all users of electrical equipment so far as reasonably practicable. This includes all NHS employees, voluntary workers, patients, visitors and members of the public; from injuries or harm that has/may result from any failure/defects of Portable Electrical Appliances operating within all NHS Client properties.
We will take all necessary steps as far as reasonably practicable to ensure that a suitable electrical inspection & testing programme is employed throughout all our NHS Client properties for the periodic inspection and testing of all portable electrical appliances to ensure they are maintained to a satisfactory standard, and are safe for use.
We will also ensure that sufficient NHS PAT Testing controls are also in place to safeguard and give adequate protection to all persons against suffering the harmful effects of an electric shock and/or burns that may result in injury or harm.

In the UK, PAT is an essential part of maintaining workplace safety and compliance with regulations.
PAT involves a series of visual inspections and electronic tests to check the safety and functionality of portable electrical appliances. These appliances can include anything from kettles and toasters to computers and printers. power tools etc. The goal of electrical appliance testing is to identify any potential electrical faults that could lead to accidents, fires, or injuries in the workplace.
Definition of Portable or Transportable Equipment
Pat testing is normally carried out on portable or transportable equipment it can also be carried out on 3 phase equipment.
A portable or transportable appliance is any electrical equipment that is capable of being moved whilst either connected or disconnected from an electrical supply. In general it will have a lead (cable) and a plug, but includes fixed equipment that is connected via a fixed spur.
